About- Rajesh is the fourth generation of Goldsmith/ Silversmith in his family who creates One- Off pieces of functional and sculptural collectable art objects. He is a descendant of the Rajput cast who are Goldsmiths to the Royal family's in Rajastan, India since late 1800's.

Rajesh is a freeman of the Goldsmiths' Company and gained freedom of the City of London in 2013. From his studio in rural Staffordshire, he uses traditional handcrafted techniques to produce all of his work with the addition of his unique concepts to contemporise the ancient craft of Silversmithing.

Collections- Rajesh has his work in the permanent collections of  the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and Cartwright Hall in Bradford.

Rajesh has established an impressive portfolio commanding interest both nationally and internationally through his unique approach to design. He has created Silverware for the Government of India in 2005 inspired by historical artifacts. One of his collections is underpinned by the research and exploration of traditional tea drinking. A selection of vessels capture vintage aesthetics celebrating the ritual of formal dining through the expression of conventional forms and functionality.

Education & Awards- On graduation from Sheffield Hallam University in 1998, Rajesh won the Goldsmiths' Company Silversmithing Award and was one of a few U.K students to participate in the 12th Silver Triennial in Germany. Current Exhibitions 2018

Nexus-"Meeting at the Edge"  Touring Exhibition -Kirkcaldy, Scotland March 2018 / Ruthin Craft Centre, Wales November 2018 https://www.fcac.co.uk/event/nexus-meetings-edge/

This exhibition looks at some of the ways in which 21st-century artists and makers are changing preconceptions about their art forms.

Jewellery, silversmithing, textiles and ceramics all have long histories and deep-rooted traditions behind them. Today their familiar, often restricting, boundaries are being expanded by makers taking leaps of imagination and devising fresh approaches to the way they work.

The exhibitors in Nexus are linked by great technical skill, a capacity for free-thinking and confidence in their ideas. However, each has found their own way of extending the boundaries of their art form.

Nexus celebrates the unexpected. None of the work in this exhibition may be quite what it seems…

Curated by Dr Elizabeth Goring for Fife Contemporary in collaboration with Ruthin Craft Centre, Wales, it features 20 artists from around Britain and Ireland.
